The 31st Annual JBA Thanksgiving Classic is an official Boys Qualifier for the 2014 Washington Middle School Basketball Championship to be held in Spokane, March 15-16th. The State Basketball Championship will be held for top teams from towns throughout Washington. The State tournament offers a 4 game guarantee against top "school-based” competition. Players represent their high schools and must reside with the same HS boundary.
On Tuesday January 29th JHS hosted Sammamish. Continuing in its commitment to the community, Juanita Basketball Association made its annual donation to Juanita High School's Boys basketball program. This is made possible through the hard work and dedication of the JBA board, parents, and players who raise funds through out the season and the partnership with Juanita High School administration, Boys Basketball team, and the JHS Booster Club to host the annual Juanita Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament.
The JBA is a 501(c) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of youth basketball programs for the Juanita High School learning community. The all-volunteer Board of Directors is actively involved in all aspects of the organization, from running fund raising to providing program direction. We’re helping our youth grow an attachment to our schools, gain life-skills that will help them work through situations they encounter in the future, and learn how to succeed as part of a team.
Our teams are comprised solely of middle school and elementary school students from within the Juanita boundary area. Each team is led by a head coach and an assistant coach, chosen for an impressive background in local sports leagues and schools, who have demonstrated a positive and supportive outlook with a solid technical background. The parents and families provide a supportive environment for the players and assist with other volunteer activities. Each team provides a volunteer Team Coordinator, Scorekeepers, Clock Attendants, and a Photographer.
